Winding roads in Czechia: a north and east motorcycle loop

For riders who enjoy changes of direction, northern and eastern Czechia offer a useful alternative to long motorway stages. The loop connects Dubá, Liberec, the mountains near the Polish border and the Jeseníky area before returning through Vysočina. Treat it as an outline for lawful, unhurried road riding.

Five stages to consider

  1. Prague to Liberec: The roads around Dubá are well known among local riders. Continue toward the Ještěd area, allowing for slower traffic near viewpoints. Pekelné Doly may be a stop if its current access and opening hours suit your route.
  2. Liberec to Hradec Králové: Follow the northern part of the country near the Krkonoše region. The Adršpach–Teplice Rocks require parking and time on foot; they are more than a quick photo stop.
  3. Hradec Králové to Olomouc: The Jeseníky Mountains and Červenohorské sedlo can make this the most demanding day. Check weather and road conditions before setting off.
  4. Olomouc to Jihlava: Leave the mountains for the Moravian Karst and Vysočina. This is a good stage for a more relaxed pace and an extended stop.
  5. Jihlava to Prague: The Sázava valley offers a scenic way back when time and road conditions allow.

Do not assume a road is empty, newly surfaced or suitable for high speed because a description said so. Conditions change, and popular motorcycle roads also carry local traffic. Build a route with sensible breaks, daylight margin and alternative roads if a mountain section is affected by weather or works.
