Why This Route?

This tour is a masterclass in diversity. In just five days, you will ride through landscapes so different they feel like separate continents. You start at sea level, riding between water and sky in the Ebro Delta, climb into the wild, empty mountains of “The Spanish Tuscany,” and finish in the lush, green volcanic zone of La Garrotxa.

It combines the relaxation of the coast with the thrill of canyon carving. The perfect escape for nature lovers.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Barcelona — Tortosa

Rice Fields & Flamingos

We cruise south along the coast, passing the Roman city of Tarragona. Then, the landscape flattens dramatically as we enter the **Delta de l’Ebre Natural Park**.

Highlight: The Delta Ride

Riding here is surreal. The narrow roads run on dykes between vast rice paddies and the sea. You are literally riding on water. Keep an eye out for flocks of wild pink flamingos that inhabit the lagoons.

The Finish: Tortosa. We recommend staying at the Parador de Tortosa, located in the ancient Zuda Castle overlooking the city.

Overnight: Tortosa.
Stats: ~240 km.

Day 2: Tortosa — Alcañiz

The Spanish Tuscany

We leave the sea and climb steeply into the **Els Ports** mountains. If weather permits, take the detour to **Mont Caro (1,440m)** for a view that stretches to Mallorca.

Then we enter the **Matarraña** region. With its rolling hills, olive groves, and golden stone villages like Valderrobres, it is often compared to Tuscany, but without the tourist crowds.

Highlight: Alcañiz & Motorland

Alcañiz is a city with petrol in its veins. It hosts the famous Motorland Aragón MotoGP circuit. The ride towards the city offers fast, sweeping curves through red earth landscapes.

Overnight: Alcañiz.
Stats: ~200 km.

Day 3: Alcañiz — Tremp

The Canyon Run

Today is about water and rock. We head north towards the pre-Pyrenees. The road follows the Noguera Ribagorçana river, winding along a series of turquoise reservoirs.

Highlight: Congost de Mont-Rebei

We ride parallel to this spectacular gorge. The road C-1311 offers breathtaking views of the vertical cliffs cutting through the landscape. It’s a photographer’s dream.

Overnight: Tremp (Gateway to the Pyrenees).
Stats: ~230 km.

Day 4: Tremp — Olot

From Rocks to Volcanoes

We cross the Coll de Nargó on the fantastic C-14 road—a favorite among local bikers for its grip and rhythm. As we move east towards Ripoll and Olot, the environment transforms. The dry rocks are replaced by lush, deep green forests.

Highlight: La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone

We arrive in Olot, located inside a dormant volcanic natural park. The landscape is dotted with 40 volcanic cones covered in vegetation. It feels mystical and ancient.

Overnight: Olot or Santa Pau (Medieval village inside a volcano crater).
Stats: ~260 km.

Day 5: Olot — Barcelona

The Road of 365 Curves

Start the day with a view of **Castellfollit de la Roca**, a village perched on a basalt cliff edge. Then, head to the coast via Girona.

But we save the ultimate treat for last.

Highlight: Tossa de Mar to Sant Feliu (GI-682)

This coastal road is legendary. It is known as the “Road of 365 Curves” (one for each day of the year). It winds high above the Mediterranean with perfect asphalt and stunning sea views. It is the best possible way to end your Spanish tour.

The Finish: A short highway cruise back to Barcelona.

Stats: ~220 km.
